What are the names of the horses you ride? Ima Touch DZ (Junior) and my new three year old mare, Hands off Boys (CJ).
What is your favorite event to compete in? I love huntseat events and Showmanship but my absolute favorite ins probably Hunter under saddle!
What as been the most memorable moment for you in the barn? I live far away so I don’t get much time “in the barn” with everyone but at J/S even living so far away I always feel welcome.
What has been the most memorable moment for you in the show ring? I think the most memorable moment was when I was Reserve World Champion in Hunter under saddle with Junior in 2006. It was his first trophy at a big show and it was very unexpected as I hadn’t even planned on showing him in that event. The horse I usually showed in HUS came up lame at t he World show and I had to first be convinced to show Junior in the HUS and he showed his heart out in that class. I remember when they called the third place horse (and it wasn’t us) I wrapped my arms around his neck since I knew we were either World or Reserve World Champions.
What does riding and showing mean to you? Showing and riding is a fulfillment of goals that I set for myself each year. I usually don’t even share the goals I have with other people because they are aspirations I set for myself.
Even if I never set foot into a show arena again I would ride horses because I love to ride, groom, and be around my horses. Showing is icing on the cake for me but I set goals and in 2008 we definitely exceeded all of them!
Long term goals? Haha well I have show goals that I’m not going to share for next year as I stated above but I am looking forward to another fun and hopefully successful show season with Junior and CJ in 2009.
